Scoil Mhuire Abbeyside is a mixed Catholic school which is situated in Sheare’s Street, Abbeyside, Dungarvan. Originally founded in 1891 (on the former site at The Pond) Scoil Mhuire has educated the children of Abbeyside and the surrounding area for over 120 years. As a Catholic school we also welcome those of other faiths and none.
At Present there are 471 pupils attending Scoil Mhuire. We are a diverse school with pupils from many ethnic backgrounds enrolled. We have 31 staff members, 24 of those staff members being mainstream teachers and the remaining 7 members are ancillary staff.
In Scoil Mhuire our aim is to make every pupil comfortable and happy while giving the best education possible. We strive to make sure each pupil receives the best education that we can provide for them.
Scoil Mhuire Abbeyside also has 2 autism classrooms and a sensory room. The staff in this unit provide specific education for children with autism. Where appropriate these children, with the necessary support will also integrate with classes in a mainstream setting during their school day.
Our School celebrates students of all abilities and talents and has many opportunities to showcase our students in sports, cultural and academic pursuits such as Cumann na mBunscoil league, Peace Proms and local school quizzes.
Enrolment for 2026/2027 is open from January 12th until February 2nd.
There will be an Open Day for parents on Wednesday January 28th between 2:45 and 3:45.
